Just a quick note to let you know that Dave is home from the hospital. He will be playing catch up on the beads this weekend. We will let you know as soon as your order has shipped.

I know I’ve been bad this last week or so about listing anything.  I just wanted to let everyone know that Dave is in the hospital. He has a blood clot in his leg. His leg was hurting last week  but then seemed better. He thought he hurt it somehow. Then yesterday it was hurting again and his calf was all swollen.  He kept thinking it was in the muscles. I took him to the ER yesterday afternoon and it is a clot. They are giving him drugs to dissolve it . And of course since he is really feeling ok, he is going crazy there. I’m going to take him his laptop, not sure they are on wifi, and a book.

I did want to let you know if you place an order in the next couple of days it won’t get to you as fast as usual.  Just expect a slight delay. I think they will let him out in a couple of days. That seems to be the usual.

I’ll keep you all posted.

Early this morning.

Well ,it’s been a strange busy day. We woke up to about 2 ” of snow.  Now we don’t get snow very often here and when we do it’s just about like this.  Much of it is already gone but I did get some pictures.

Then we got to meet a new friend of Steph. A guy friend. Her girlfriend has been trying to hook them up and now he is here visiting. Seem like a nice guy. So that took up a bit of time.

And then we have had the inauguration on much of the day too. It was very nice.

 Dave didn’t do any new creations today. I think he got caught up in the busy day too.

I took some pictures of the snow in front of the kennel. I will post them.I have a hard time trying to get the pictures where I want them. Haven’t figured that out yet. I wanted them at the bottom but they showed up at the top.

Oh well.

My gosh, these week just go flying by and we arent’ even doing anything all that interesting. The weekend went fine. We really relaxed a lot since it was so cold . I didn’t even put the dogs into the kennel on Sat because of the cold. I’m not sure that they have a real winterized coat since they spend afternoons and nights in the house. So I’m careful with that. We have a dog house guest. He is a beagle . Not sure if he is mixed with anything else or not. But he is kind of odd. Very different than my German Shepherds . Not the sharpest knife in the drawer. He is cute and very loving . I shouldn’t say that about him.

Dave worked on another creation . I like this set a lot .

Aren’t they beautiful? I’m a sucker for green .

Well, tomorrow we will have a new president. Interesting times. I like these mildstones in history. I guess I have enough history myself to appreciate when they happen.

It’s pretty amazing that no one was killed in that plane crash in New York. Wow, been watching  all morning.

It’s Friday again. I don’t know where this week went .

Now  it’s cold here. Woke up to 10*. I have to say it didn’t feel as cold as 40* and rain. I put the dogs out for a few hours and they are in the house now.

We will have a dog guest for about a week. I have a friend whose step-mother died earlier in the week and she is going to leave today to go to the funeral and be with her Dad. I guess he is not in very good shape. So I will have her dog here. I hope the weather warms up otherwise I will have 6 dogs in the house. Some don’t get along so they have to be put in crates plus I have no idea how they will get along with our guest. I guess we’ll have to see how it goes. It’s so much easier if I can put them in the kennel. Keep your fingers crossed that the weather gets better.

Please notice on the right side of the blog we have put some ads. I am trying to find ads that will be informative or can save you and us some money.  Dave got the Amazon one up last night and I looked it over. I didn’t know that Amazon had  a bargain area. I saw some pretty good deals. This morning it’s showing a bunch of treasure chests where they will show us bargains every hour on the hour, I guess.

I am trying to find some other ads that will save us all some money in these strange times. If you know of any,let me know.

Dave is on the torch, of course. We have been talking about trying to make some of our own colors . We would have to mix them to come up with something new. We will play with it and see. Might not work well. Keep you posted.

I should also get back on the torch. It’s been a while since I’ve made beads. It seems that there are always other things to interfere with that plan.

I think Dave will be giving me another design to show you in the next few days.

I thought that we were going to wake up to VERY cold weather but so far so good. I guess we will get it tonight and tomorrow. I was going to leave the dogs in the house today because I thought it was going to be sooo cold but they are out in the kennel. I’ll watch the temperature during the day.

I wanted to thank y’all  for the nice comments on our blog. Dave has answered those of you with questions.

BTW, we are not Southerners. We are originally from the Milwaukee area in Wisconsin . We lived there until 1994 when Dave had an oportunity for a good job in Virginia Beach with my brother-in-law.That didn’t work out (difference in ethics) so we now live in a very small town in southern Virginia. Very small! Approx 1200 people. Like our son-in-law says “Mayberry with computers”. And to some degree he is right. There isn’t much here. We don’t even have a Walmart. We have to drive about 15 miles either east or west to get to one. There isn’t much more in either one of those towns either. LOL We have to go about 40 miles to the nearest mall and all that is around the mall.  I wonder if we are saving any money or not? Hmmmm

We live in a big ,old house. The picture on the website is our house. We have been working on this house since we moved into it in 2002. It’s gotten to be our hobby but work too.

The nice thing about living here though is that we are about 2 hours from the mountains, 2 hours the other way from the beach.  We have made some very nice friends here too. Our youngest daughter  lives in town with her 9 year old son so we have some family here. Our oldest lives about 3+ hours away  with her family and our middle daughter, Serena, who many of you know, lives about 15 hours away. Wish we were all closer . Maybe some day. Serena is a bead maker too. I think that Dave has a link to her site too.

Dave is on the torch but he had time to create. He it is . Ta da…….

Thing are really right in the middle of the January blahs. The weather is sunny but cold so I didn’t walk this morning. I may walk a little later when it warms up a bit. We are supposed to get really cold tomorrow. I shouldn’t complain since I grew up in Wisconsin where it get very cold but I’ve gottne use to the southern weather and have become a wimp.

I’m also watching the dogs since they aren’t real used to the cold either.

Not much else going on here today.

Have decided to try to walk every day. Not sure what I’m going to do when the arctic weather comes this way. Treadmill is not working right. Goes REAL fast and then  r-e-a-l  slow. Hard to get anything going that way.

Trying to lose weight so this is part of it.

Dave is in the studio making bead. Will get him to create something for me to show you.

The weekend was pretty uneventful. We worked on the blog trying to get things set up with WordPress. Not easy. Also downloaded a new theme, not this one, that made everything go away. I didn’t like that one bit concidering I had worked on the blog all of last week. Didn’t want that to be for nothing.

Dave and I had an argument  this morning about what day it is. Nothing serious just a little back and forth. He thought it was Thursday and I thought it was Friday. He almost had me convinced but then I remembered we watched CSI last night. It is hard to believe that the week is almost over.  I didn’t accomplish half of what I wanted to and neither did Dave.

The sun has come out after 3-4 days of rain and clouds so my attitude is much better than it was on Monday. Dave is going to get me a picture of some new creation and I will post it  on the blog. It ‘s so much fun to see  what is next.

I signed up for Project 365. It is a commitment to take at least a  picture every day and post it . Should be fun to look at after a while. I’ve noticed that a lot of people are doing it. Also makes a blog more interesting.

Nothing else exciting going on here. We all seem to be in our “after Christmas/January funk”.
